Quo vadis, Aussie? Shark finning im Great Barrier Reef

Da sind mir vor Staunen fast die Augen übergequollen aber laut dem Australian Marine Conservation Society will das Queensland's Fisheries Department einen Antrag stellen, eine Lizenz für unlimitierten Fang von Haien zu erhalten. Dies würde shark finning einschließen und damit legilisieren.

"Not only is the Queensland Government proposing to hand out specific fishing licenses for shark fin fishing, which will entrench the practice for years, they are planning to legitimise shark finning in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area and in the Marine Parks of Moreton Bay and the Great Sandy Straits with this new license proposal. [The Fisheries Department is] proposing to create a shark fin fishery [...]. The proposal includes creating new licenses to fishers to catch unlimited sharks and also to catch sharks with nets over a kilometer long in our off-shore waters."

Kann man nur hoffen, dass der Antrag nicht durchkommt. Das wäre ein desaströses Armutszeugnis. Also, wenn die Arbeit nervt, sich das paper zieht oder einfach Langeweile am Start ist: klick!
